STEM Teachers and Teaching Assistants

We are hiring Science, Technology, Engineering and Arts enthusiasts to join our team of Maker Educators in San Francisco’s Bay Area. Apply for this part-time position to be part of a great team delivering the best STEM and Maker classes to children in TinkerTech’s after-school classes, daytime classes, and all-day summer camps.

TinkerTech provides the curriculum and all the materials and will pay you while you train in this role.

TO BE AN IDEAL CANDIDATE YOU WILL:

● Have experience working with kids and inspiring them to dream big

●  Have a high school diploma and some college or equivalent

●  Be available 2 or more weekday afternoons per week

●  Have a reliable vehicle to transport teaching materials and commute to teaching sites

●  Complete a pre-employment background check, training session, and Livescan

TO BE SUCCESSFUL IN THIS JOB YOU WILL:

●  Love working with and mentoring kids - we need people with empathy who can be high energy and engaging but patient when needed

●  Be a natural problem solver/tinkerer

WAGE: PER one-hour CLASS
Assistant/trainee $18.75
Lead teacher from $26.25-$50 depending on class location and teaching experience

This is a part-time contract job. Per Class Fee advertised includes allowance for time collecting materials and tools from TinkerTech, set up and clean up.

TinkerTech STEM Program Facilitator

Part-time

LOCATION: TinkerTech studio space, Terra Linda, Marin

Are you a good team player who is organized and a great communicator? Would you be a reliable support for our teachers leading classes for children ages 5-12 exploring the latest tech tools through hands-on activities?

TinkerTech is a STEM education company teaching a variety of STEM, Maker, artistic, and engineering concepts to kids in after-school classes. We build prototypes of future cities on faraway planets, code computer games for superheroes, and take on design and engineering challenges to help solve real problems. We are hiring an in-house program facilitator to coordinate with and support our teaching team offering pop-up maker and coding classes. This job is at TinkerTech's mobile makerspace HQ in a co-working studio in Terra Linda, Marin County.

IN THIS ROLE YOU WILL: 

  • Collaborate with TinkerTech Manager and TinkerTech teachers to develop and implement our enrichment program of STEM maker and coding activities
  • Maintain and update class schedules and lesson plans. Help acquire and organize materials and make sure TinkerTech toolkits are stocked and ready for teachers to collect for class
  • Assist with training for other team members and volunteers at events. Attend scheduled training sessions and meetings
  • Collaborate with TinkerTech founder to make ongoing improvements to TinkerTech programs and adapt these for a variety of learning styles, ages, and backgrounds at community events and school tinkering days
  • Lead activities at TinkerTech community events

TO BE AN IDEAL CANDIDATE YOU WILL HAVE:

  • High school diploma or GED and preferably be working towards a further qualification in Education, Communication, Science, Engineering, Computer Science, Art, or related field
  • Be available 2 or more weekday days per week
  • Experience working with children
  • Minimum age of 18 years at time of hire
  • Knowledge of a variety of tinkering techniques such as crafting, electronics, textiles, and/or coding and proficiency in using google docs, calendar, spreadsheets
  • Strong organizational skills, a high degree of initiative
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, ability to collaborate with a team remotely and in-person
  • Reliable personal transportation required

Starting WAGE: $15.00 per hour
TIME: 10 hours per week during school year. START DATE: August/September 2018

This is a part-time contract job with flexible hours to coordinate with school semesters and holidays. Some weekend or evening work required for events

TinkerTech Media and Marketing Internship

Part-time

LOCATION: TinkerTech studio space, Terra Linda, Marin

Are you a student who is looking to gain experience in media and marketing? Are you creative, hard-working and organized? Would you want to play a key role in raising the profile of a fast-growing business in your local community?

TinkerTech is a STEM education company teaching a variety of STEM, Maker, artistic, and engineering concepts to kids in after-school classes. We build prototypes of future cities on faraway planets, code computer games for superheroes, and use design and engineering challenges to help solve real problems. Our program is popular, growing fast, and we want even more people to know about it.

We are looking for a media, marketing and communications intern to join our team in Summer 2018 with an opportunity to continue over the 2018-2019 school year.

The media, marketing and communications intern will work with the company Founder to schedule, create and implement media campaigns.

IN THIS ROLE YOU WILL: 

  • Be responsible for writing and creating content for the TinkerTech website, for our social networks, and through our regular email campaigns to families and schools.
  • Create engaging blog and social media content and monitor how it performs
  • Write and distribute press releases and promotional material for parents and schools about our classes, camps and events


TO BE AN IDEAL CANDIDATE YOU WILL HAVE:

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills including spelling and grammar
  • A good knowledge of social media sites
  • Great ideas and enthusiasm for creating digital content that appeals to our audience of families, schools and education partners
  • Experience using a camera and using photos to design original content
  • Good working knowledge of Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, YouTube, Pinterest and Google+
  • An interest in using social media analytics, including Google Analytics and Facebook Insights
  • Basic knowledge of Photoshop and/or InDesign a plus
  • High School Junior, Senior or College age preferred

This is an unpaid internship
TIME COMMITMENT: 
10 hours per week for a minimum of two weeks during summer vacation, 4-6 hours per week during school year
