TinkerTech is a non-profit offering Maker and STEM classes for children aged 3-12 in Marin County, California. TinkerTech classes are mobile which means we take the class to the students. Our small group classes are held in Rec Centers and at schools in Marin. We are looking for talented people to join our growing team.

Maker Educators, After-School Enrichment, Early Years

We’re looking for creative, enthusiastic educators to inspire the youngest makers who come to our classes. Could this be you? To be the person who enjoys this role, you will:

Enjoy teaching
Be curious about all things Maker and STEM
Have experience teaching a group class and have a good command of child management
Be reliable, highly organized and great at thinking on your feet
Be bursting with fun ideas (or know where to find them)
Thrive in the creative environment that Maker encourages
Be knowledgeable about the work of TinkerTech, a 501(c)(3) non-profit promoted through tinkertech.me and social media
Have a driver license and/or provide your own transport - our classes are mobile 

We provide all the tools and materials needed to teach the classes and have a good curriculum of maker projects to get you started. This is a contract position with opportunities to teach on one or more days per week. Classes are generally between 1-4pm and run for a full school year.

Swift Playgrounds Teacher, After-School Enrichment, Elementary & Middle School

We’re looking for creative, enthusiastic educators to inspire and teach the Swift programming language in a fun and exciting manner, using Apple’s Swift Playgrounds application. Swift Playgrounds is a game that teaches the fundamentals of programming and the Swift programming language. To be successful in this role, you will:

Enjoy teaching
Be curious about all things Maker and STEM
Be a fast learner. An interest in Computer Science is necessary but extensive coding experience is not required for this role as training is provided
Have experience teaching a group class and have a good command of child management
Be reliable, highly organized and great at thinking on your feet
Thrive in the creative environment that Maker, Computer Science and STEM education encourages
Be knowledgeable about the work of TinkerTech, a 501(c)(3) non-profit promoted through tinkertech.me and social media
Have a driver license and/or provide your own transport - our classes are mobile

Robot Club Lead Teacher, After-School Enrichment, Elementary

We are looking for creative, enthusiastic educators to run our Dash and Dot Robot Clubs in a fun and exciting manner, using curriculum from Wonder Workshop. Dash and Dot help children learn the fundamentals of programming using a block programming language and in Swift Playgrounds. To be successful in this role, you will:

Enjoy teaching
Be curious about all things Maker and STEM
Be a fast learner. An interest in Computer Science is necessary but robotics programming experience is not required for this role as training is provided
Have experience teaching a group class and have a good command of child management
Be reliable, highly organized and great at thinking on your feet
Thrive in the creative environment that Maker, Computer Science and STEM education encourages
Be knowledgeable about the work of TinkerTech, a 501(c)(3) non-profit promoted through tinkertech.me and social media
Have a driver license and/or provide your own transport - our classes are mobile
